Image
Senator Andrew Uchendu: TRIUMPH OF PEOPLE'S POWER AND RESILIENCE : Today as Senator Chief Andrew Uchendu mounts  the podium and takes oath of office as Distinguished Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria , it marked the collapse of the manipulation of our electoral system by  a self styled evil STRONGMAN & his whistle blower . The swearing in of Senator Uchendu also marks real victory of the people's power and conquest of resilience and determination over violence. I salute Senator Uchendu for  his moment of glory and our leader Rt Hon CRA for offering leadership that strengthens our resolve, courage and gives hope to ordinary people.  Those who celebrated the short lived victory of  electoral manipulation will definitely fear God Almighty and also know that there is a limit to which they can manipulate our weak institutional systems . Chief Senator Andrew Uchendu represents the TRUE spirit of the Riversman and Rivers state. This marks a new beginni...

GOODLUCK'S BAD LUCK HIT RIVERS IJAW

Image
GOODLUCK'S BAD LUCK HIT RIVERS IJAW By Charles Dagogo-Jack Some children are bound to destroy what their fathers have built. But let’s take it as only a matter of bad luck that the Rivers Ijaw quest for equity and by extension the Ijaw project was dealt a devastating blow by an Ijaw son. What is the Ijaw project? The Ijaw, concentrated in Bayelsa and Rivers States, but also spread across other states of Nigeria are to be found in Akwa Ibom, Delta, Edo and Ondo States. Mainly, it is the Ijaw that occupy the Niger Delta. The Ijaw constitute the fourth largest ethnic group in Nigeria, to be counted immediately after the Hausa/Fulani, Yoruba and Ibo. But this kind of thought usually escapes Nigerians. Aware of the problems associated with their terrain, the Ijaw were already making issue of their need for independence and self-actualization. When the British called the Lancaster House Conferences to discuss Nigeria’s independence, the Rivers Chiefs and Peoples Conference, sen...

GOVERNOR WIKE'S STATE BROADCAST; EVASIVE, DECEITFUL AND FRAUGHT WITH FALSEHOOD. - INCRA

Image
GOVERNOR WIKE'S STATE BROADCAST; EVASIVE, DECEITFUL AND FRAUGHT WITH FALSEHOOD. - INCRA We have read with bewildering tangle, the slushy broadcast by Governor Wike of Rivers State, which inundated the social media yesterday, September 15, 2017, and we are constrained to query if such sleaze emanated from the office of the Executive Governor of Rivers State. It is base that the Governor could settle for a verdant aide with officious zeal who supposes his green conceptions would suffice, to prepare his speech for a State broadcast when he can afford to hire the services of the best speech writers anywhere in the world. The said broadcast is sufficient in  falsehood and fraught with incoherence and contradictions consistent with the manner of the Governor.  We therefore, consider the broadcast as one of his usual inveighings. Consequently, we are compelled to state as follows: 1. That the Governor has remained worrissomely evasive on the issue of the continued desecrat...

Gov. Wike’s violent character trait and public conduct in Rivers State. In the aftermath of the sacking by the Appeal Court of the ‘whistle blowing’ ex-Senator, George Sekibo, the media was awash with a statement credited to Governor Nyesom Wike in which he threatened to die rather than see APC win in Rivers State in 2019 saying: “I am ready to place my life on the line, nobody will take Rivers State in 2019, they will not succeed”. Days earlier, news made the headlines of yet another public misdemeanor by Governor Wike who had threatened to slap the Chairman of Capital Oil Limited, Chief Ifeanyi Ubah during the Anambra State governorship primaries of the PDP. The Rivers State governor was quoted as saying: “If you don’t leave now, I will beat you up outside in the presence of these things you brought as thugs. I will do it myself. Forget my office now. My security details will not be involved”. As the ugly scenario of the Anambra PDP primaries was unfolding on Saturday, August 1...

ABIA SITUATION: CRISS REPORT YESTERDAY

ABIA SITUATION: CRISS REPORT YESTERDAY  By Sam Harts First, I write as Sam Hart, from Umuahia, Abia State and not as an Official of Government. That out of the way, as is my custom, I will go straight to the point. The last couple of days have witnessed actual and rumours of unsavoury goings on in Abia State ostensibly leading to clashes between the Nigerian Army and members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). So what exactly happened? I will explain. First, a background for those not abreast of events leading to the current kerfuffle. A certain young man named Nnamdi Kanu hails from Isiama Afaraukwu Community in Ibeku, Umuahia North LGA. His father is infact, the King of the Community. Nnamdi Kanu was the Director of Radio Biafra and Founder of Indigenous People of Biafra, a group agitating for the actualisation of a sovereign Biafran Country carved out of present-day Nigeria.

In the said release, Governor Wike accused the SARS operatives of kidnapping an unnamed man and taken him to an ATM machine where he was forced to withdraw 500,000 naira in order to secure his release. As a responsible organization, INCRA would want Governor Wike to provide the followings; i) Name of the man allegedly abducted, Point of abduction and point of payment of the 500,000 ransom ii) Aside the ATM machines in Government House,INCRA would love the Governor to state  which other ATM machine pays up to 500,000 in the entire State in one day iii) As a Governor who has access to Secur...

Image
'Literacy In A Digital World" - Chief (Barr) Dumo Lulu-Briggs Writes To Mark World Literacy Day September 8 was declared International Literacy Day by UNESCO on November 17, 1965. Its aim is to highlight the importance of literacy to individuals, communities and societies. Celebrations take place in several countries. Today being the world’s Literacy day titled ‘Literacy in a Digital World’, brings to fore the resonance and the significance of the above statement. In line with this post-modern progressive thinking, this statement was recently corroborated by Chief (Barr) Dumo Lulu Briggs at an ICT program organized by his Youth Foundation, the Dumo Lulu-Briggs Youth Foundation, (DYF23), organized for Rivers Youths, in collaboration with Google. The fact that DLB, as he is popularly addressed by his teeming admirers and indeed the mass of Rivers Youths, articulated and co-sponsored this very auspicious and innovative programme with Google, is a clear pointer to the coll...
