A TALE OF TWO AMBASSADORS:
H.E Dr DAP.

As a young primary school pupil I always thought that an Ambassador refers to the representative of our country to another country.  As time went on , I realized that an Ambassador is someone who represents our collective aspiration and value system.  I know of two ambassadors ;one appointed to represent our country in a foreign land and another is representing us at home charged with responsibility of transforming our land . One is trustworthy, another easily betrays trust . That one  that is responsible is  noted for excellence and another is an epitome of mediocrity.



One has an analytical mind while another is thuggish in disposition.  One is meticulous and another is tactless and careless . One is loyal and another is treacherous. One is reliable and the other is perceived as a thief . One is honest and another is a known liar .  That one with an excellent spirit is Ambassador Oji Ngofa. Who is the second one ?  When history will be written the two ambassadors will be judged by their actions . Their people will  appreciate that mediocrity and dishonesty do not pay . I ask again who is the second Ambassador??? ---------I rest my case

The holy grail of democracy is the widespread participation of people in the business of power, legitimised by the representation of elected leaders. Participation is so meaningful that the noun derivative of democracy, democratisation, means "the action of making something accessible to everyone". So, on face value, the democratisation of "presidential aspiration" seems to be a good thing, and one may argue that this might throw up a pool of aspirants for the primaries for the people to choose, but the reality may be more sinister and a bad omen for our democracy.
