WHAT A GOOD MOVE: PRINCE AWALANTA

Prince Awalanta Congratulates Hon Ojukaye And His Newly Elected Excos.

The Former Caretaker Chairman of Eleme local Government has congratulated Hon. Ojukaye Flag Amachree, [State chairman], Chief Emeka Beke, [Secretary], Chris Finebone, [publicity Secretary], Evang. Caroline Nagbo, [Women Leader] and others who were elected as Excos of APC Rivers State.

Prince Awalanta Ejire joins other party leaders, and faithfuls to hail the transparent process that brought in the new face of the party leadership across the 23 local government areas, and described the just concluded Ward, Local and State congresses as a proof that the APC as a political party practice Internal Democracy.

The Prince who commends Hon. Ojukaye Flag Amachree sense of patriotism and consistent loyalty shown to the party leadership over the years, saying; his roles in improving leadership capacity, especially on the value of good governance, can be compare to none.

Also, on the emergence of Chief Emeka Beke, Chris finebone and others, Prince Ejire said he believes that their antecedents have been most exemplary and commendable in advocating for a better system to emerge for the good of Rivers people in general.

The Prince Of Eleme Kingdom, Hon. Prince Awalanta prays the Almighty God to grant the newly elected party officers across the state wisdom to pilot the All Progressives Congress (APC), Rivers chapter to victory in subsequent election.

The holy grail of democracy is the widespread participation of people in the business of power, legitimised by the representation of elected leaders. Participation is so meaningful that the noun derivative of democracy, democratisation, means "the action of making something accessible to everyone". So, on face value, the democratisation of "presidential aspiration" seems to be a good thing, and one may argue that this might throw up a pool of aspirants for the primaries for the people to choose, but the reality may be more sinister and a bad omen for our democracy.
